Salary: 20,000 – 24,000 upon experience

 

Introduction

Talents Project Development Consultancy has been operating as a licensed company in the UAE since 2016 and specialises in creating inspiring visitor experiences, focusing on museums, art and heritage centres, science centres and World Expos. We work with our clients on all levels, from the conception stage of a project to delivering and refining the visitor experience. TalentsUAE offers a wide range of services – including the operational running of sites, recruitment, training & mentorship, exhibition design, development of educational programming and strategic planning.

 

Clients have included: Dubai Culture; Etihad Museum; Louvre Abu Dhabi; Qasr Al Watan; Expo 2020 UK Pavilion; Expo 2020 UAE Pavilion; Al Shindagha Museum.

 

Brief Description: 

Building on our success, we are excited to be expanding our team. We are looking for an experienced and resilient Business Manager who can work alongside multiple departments to develop and grow our projects ensuring the continued success for our company. 

 

Our ideal candidate will be able to implement an effective sales approach that expands our reach and strengthens client relationships. Building on your knowledge of how business is conducted in the UAE and the cultural and corporate sectors, you will strategically plan and position the appropriate markets to actively seek out new business opportunities; safeguarding Talents UAE’s reputation for delivering quality services whilst achieving and exceeding targets set by the Country Manager.

 

Working alongside the Commercial Manager and key partners you will be expected to:

 

  • Generate at least AED 25 million of new business revenue for Talents UAE per year
  • Work strategically, and lead on a business development strategy and carry out necessary planning in order to implement strategies such as seeking ways of improving the way business development operates and communicates between departments
  • Have a good understanding of all products and services offered by the company across all projects
  • Research and identify new business opportunities, including, new markets, growth areas, trends, services and partnerships
  •  Leading on keeping company CRM system up to date and generating weekly and monthly reports presenting KPIs & achievements
  • Confident networker, able to meet with clients face to face and over the phone understanding clients’ needs and developing relationships
  • Manage timelines and processes, follow up new business opportunities, placing Talents UAE on frameworks, and lead on the delivery of tenders, proposals and contracts, often to very tight deadlines 
  • Review client feedback and implement necessary changes
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure all outputs are a unified tone of voice, case studies are up to date and the company is presented in the best possible way to maximise new business potential 
  • Support the Project Director as required to help deliver on active projects, preparing portfolios and attending start-up meetings as required 
  • Lead a small team of Business Development Executives, ensuring they understand what is required of them. Motivate and inspire them, offering training where required. Think strategically by setting clear objectives in order to develop and improve the business and carry out appraisals 
  • Keep up to date with trends and changes in the cultural and corporate sectors
  • Manage targets and work with the Senior Management team to carry out sales forecasts and analysis, producing monthly and quarterly reports of the health of the business to senior management. 
  • Represent Talents UAE at meetings and networking occasions
  • Any other tasks as may be required by the company in order to perform its services.

  • Take care of your personal health and safety and that of others and report any health and safety concerns.

Skills

  • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed  targets
  • Knowledge and experience of the sector Talents UAE works within (museums, cultural organisations, events including Expos and audience experiences). 
  • Excellent  time management, able to balance multiple needs and interests. 
  • Must have an understanding of budgeting and financial planning, as well as producing financial reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to network, build rapport and maintain long-term relationships with clients
  • An understanding of how a business operates – successful candidates will have a proven track record demonstrating their understanding, business acumen and analytical skills
  • Industry experience an advantage
  • Adaptability – being able to reprioritise quickly and focus all resources on achieving short-notice deadlines for tender responses.
  • Clear verbal and excellent written and IT skills for developing tenders and company reports.
  • Strong team working skills and a collaborative approach to work are essential 
  •  Ability to multitask and be flexible able to adapt to a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • Proven experience in strategic thinking, project management and organisation skills 
  • Experience / familiarity with successful marketing and business development techniques. 
  • Enthusiasm for the company, its focus and growth potential
