The 2025 edition of the Arabian Travel Market concluded on a high note, reaffirming its reputation as the region’s premier travel and tourism event. Held in Dubai, this year’s showcase attracted over 55,000 attendees from more than 160 countries, uniting global travel professionals, tourism boards, and heritage institutions under one roof. Among the standout moments was the UAE’s vibrant cultural showcase, represented across all emirates.
Abu Dhabi’s stand earned a “Highly Commended” award for its sustainability initiatives, featuring immersive displays of Emirati traditions such as Dukhoon, perfume making, and Khoos weaving. Guests enjoyed authentic Gahwa coffee while listening to live oud music. For the first time since attending the event, we observed attendees being treated to traditional dishes like Luqaimat and Harees, offering a delicious tribute to the nation’s culinary heritage.
Sharjah Museum recreated an authentic museum atmosphere with actual artefacts and interactive life-size screens that served as photo backdrops of various destinations. Fujairah spotlighted calligraphy and Al Talli weaving, while Bahrain drew long queues with its engaging oyster opening where guests took home the pearl found inside as their take home gift. Oman’s booth delighted visitors with Halwa, Regag, and seasonal tourism features. As a major sponsor, Saudi Arabia showcased its heritage and travel offerings with a commanding presence, including an elegant glass-structured stand by Saudia Airlines.
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) was recognised for its sustainable stand, constructed from 84% reused materials and 100% locally sourced resources. It featured digital brochures, plant-based menus, and eco-conscious giveaways, achieving a 10% carbon footprint reduction.
Building on this momentum, Talents UAE sees strong potential for an engaging Al Shindagha Museum activation at ATM 2026. Proposed experiences include VR tours of Dubai Creek: Birth of a City and the Perfume House, Burqa and Misbaha workshops, Al Ayala live performances, and an interactive hologram showcasing the Emirati nose greeting and traditional perfume applications – whether on the body, clothing, in the home, or for special occasions. These offerings aim to elevate visitor engagement and position Al Shindagha Museum as a leading cultural destination.
Arabian Travel Market 2025 proved that when heritage and innovation align, they create compelling experiences for a global audience. With rising attendance and interest, the UAE’s tourism and cultural sectors are on a path to even greater success.
